Petro Verster started her career in the legal field in 1991 as receptionist and worked her way up through the ranks to legal secretary and later on as paralegal and executive assistant. 

She completed her studies whilst being fulltime employed and obtained her LLB degree in 2017 from UNISA. 

She completed her articles and was admitted as an attorney on 1 December 2017. 

She was admitted as a Notary Public on 8 May 2018. 

She obtained her right of appearance in the High Court on 8 May 2018. 

She started practising for her own account from 1 October 2018 under the name and style of PMV Attorneys & Notaries.

She was accredited as a mediator on 1 April 2025.

She is a member of the Johannesburg Attorneys’ Association (“JAA”) as well as the Gauteng Attorneys’ Association (“GAA”).

She served on the EXCO of the JAA and continues to serve on the JAA sub-committees.  She assists with queries and complaints from legal practitioners and work together with the judiciary in order to resolve issues and to encourage a positive mindset in an often challenging legal environment.

She has substantive knowledge of the law in light thereof that she has been in the legal industry for the past 34 year and continues her learning journey to develop her skills by attending various courses on a regular basis, inter alia:

  • Practice Management Training Course with the School for Legal Practice (LSSA) and passed the business management certification on compliance, finance, risk analysis and management, accountancy, fraud avoidance, investments, insurance, tech, administration, HR, strategic management, budgets and cash flow.
  • JBCC course dealing with contract law in general; contract law in the construction environment; risk management; risk mitigation and dispute resolution in the construction environment.
  • LEAD course dealing with engineering and construction contracts.
  • LEAD course on shares; shareholding and the Companies Act.
  • GENESIS CORPORATE SERVICES course on the Protection of Personal Information Act (information officer’s duties and liabilities – roles and responsibilities) 
  • LEAD course on opinion writing.
  • LEAD course on the rules of evidence.
  • LEAD course on commercial property rental and eviction.
  • LEAD course on litigation strategy.
  • LEAD course on cyber crime and the trends of cyber crime.
  • SOCIAL JUSTICE NETWORK maintenance and mediation workshop.
  • LSSA accredited with DISAC 40-hour Civil Mediation Training.
  • Accredited mediator in good standing on the ADR Network SA Panel.
